Michel “Mike” Moreno, who serves as the current owner and manager of Southern Equine Stables as well as a partner with Global Security Systems, is a Lafayette, Louisiana-based business professional. With a passion for horse racing and a good eye for business opportunities, Michel Moreno has invested a large amount of time and energy into his horse-breeding business, striking partnerships with other thoroughbred breeders across the country and breeding successful race horses that have competed in such e vents as the Breeders Cup, Kentucky Derby and Preakness.
Mike Moreno got his start at the University of Southwestern Louisiana, obtaining a degree in business administration and an MBA. He also taught at the university while earning his MBA, acting as an adjunct professor in marketing and behavioral science. He went on to become a partner with Global Security Systems in 2003. Global Security Systems provides security solutions for private and government entities.
